Working Student

International students can work upto 20 hours a week part time during school term and full time during semester breaks. From April 2012, the Tier-1 Post Study Work route was closed to International students. Instead students can now apply for a job post their study under the Tier 2 Work Permit. Tier 2 is the company sponsored route for international skilled workers from Non EU countries. UK continues to offer good opportunities to high caliber international students to work and build their career in the UK or in other European countries such as France, Spain, Italy and also the US. The tier 2 was introduced with the main that international students could gain employment with appropriate skills that are commensurate with their qualifications and skills to gain international experience and career benefits that would benefit the UK economy.
